Congratulations to Year 11 pupil Daniel Thomas on gaining a place on the 2010 National Youth Brass Band of Wales!
Daniel has been playing the Euphonium for two years and has won one of only 4 euphonium places in the band which is regarded as the pinnacle of youth brass music in Wales and as one of the finest National youth ensembles in the world.
Daniel is taught by Dr. Robert Childs, himself regarded as one of the finest exponents of the Euphonium in the world. Daniel is over the moon: "Getting into the National Youth Band has been an ambition of mine for a long time and after a lot of practice and a bit of luck, I was able to get a place for 2010."
The course is at the end of July at Trinity College, Camarthen. Before then, however, Daniel has the small matter of his GCSE's!
