A big thank you to all those involved in the activities days organised before half term. The three days were a great chance for pupils to get to know their class mates and form teachers for next year. Feedback from pupils has been very positive and all enjoyed. |

Never mind the general election the time has arrived to vote for your choice of new tie. The entries have been cut down to the best 12 as chosen by members of the school council and staff. All that remains is for you to vote for your chosen design.

Design your next tie. The competition is under way and now is your chance to create a tie design to welcome in the new era. As Nantyglo and Abertillery communities join we need a tie worthy of the occasion. The best designs will be voted upon by pupils of both schools to decide on the final design. Another great night, as many of you will agree I'm sure. We welcomed lots of pupils and their families to tour the school visiting each department and talking to staff. We hope you found the experience worthwhile and we look forward to seeing you again soon. |

Team building dates confirmed. May 26th-28th will now be dedicated to team building activities for pupils from both Abertillery and Nantyglo Comprehensives. Pupils will take part in different activities each day as they get to know each other. Activities include a Trip to the Black mountains for outdoor adventure activities as well as RAF team building exercises.

Year 9 options evening is hailed as a great success. As many of you will be aware most of the current year 9 pupils and their parents/guardians came to visit the school on Thursday night to have a tour of the facilities and discuss options available to year 10 pupils in September 2010. We hope you all found the experience enjoyable and informative.
