Lunch arrangements

The lunch break starts at 12.35pm and finishes at 1.05pm each day, however for the first day provision will be made for an extended lunch period to allow new pupils extra time to acclimatise. In addition to this pupils in year 7 will also be provided with a further extended lunch break throughout the first half term.

From September pupils in years 7 and 8 who wish to leave the school grounds will require a pupil lunch pass, these can be obtained from the school office and will require parent/guardian consent.

Those pupils receiving free school meals will be given lunch tickets, which they can exchange for food in the canteen. These tickets will be distributed each morning in registration periods.

New transport arrangements for Nantyglo pupils

In readiness for September three private stagecoaches have been arranged each morning and afternoon to transport pupils to and from school. Details of the routes they will follow and pick up times will soon be sent to all parents/guardians. It is important to keep this letter safe, as it will act as your child’s bus ticket for the first day of school. Pupils will then be provided with a more permanent season ticket for bus travel on that first day in school. Please note the season ticket will also allow pupils to catch a service bus at a later time should they need to stay in school for any extra curricular activities etc.

For further information or if you do not receive a letter before 30th August please contact Peter Butcher on 01495 355435.
