Welcome to the Business Studies Department
At Abertillery Comprehensive we currently teach GCSE Business Studies to our year 10 and 11 pupils following the WJEC GCSE course, Lessons are now taught by Mr. I Meredith (HOD). The Business Studies teaching room is equipped with 25 up to date computers and a projector with interactive white board to assist in pupils learning.
The course is split into two parts;
The Coursework (25%), which consists of a controled assessment where pupils identify a business opportunity in the area before researching its likely success through producing a business plan for the proposed venture.
The Exam (75%), which consists of questioning from the modules covered throughout the two year course. This is a two hour exam and is taken during the June of Year 11.

Business studies will not be taught at Abertillery Comprehensive from September 2011 due to the drop in pupils opting to persue the subject.
