Information for year 10 and 11 pupils undertaking
GCSE Art and Design 2009/10.
- You should now have been given your exam paper for GCSE Art and Design. The paper consists of 5 themes and a choice of 30 questions. (The themes are listed below if you need them)
- Your first step is to choose your area of focus.
- Choose 3 of the themes and 1 of the questions to mind map and research.
- After mind mapping you will have a clearer idea which theme or question you wish to take forward as your chosen topic. You may be undecided and have a couple of ideas.
- The next step is to research all the elements of your chosen topic. To do this, use the internet, newspapers, magazines, books, friends and family to obtain information, images and text.
- During your research you may discover Artists, Designers and Craftspeople who work within the same theme or topic. Collect images of the artwork, remembering to note down the artists name and were you found the artwork, in case you need to find it again.
- Keep all your mind maps and research safe and bring it to your next art lesson.
Your exam is in only a few weeks (22nd-23rd March 2010).
Due to the school closures we have missed a lot of very important lessons. The mind maps and research therefore needs to be completed by Monday 18th January 2010.
